Plone multimedia sprint a success!
The multimedia sprint organized by Jazkarta brought together 20 developers from 13 nations for 2 days to build a multimedia framework for Plone.
In the two days following the annual Plone Conference in Vienna, Austria, developers from around the world met to improve the multimedia capabilities of Plone.
With participants from France, England, Germany, Australia, Sweden, Ukraine, USA, Austria, India, Belgium, South Africa, Italy, and Canada, the multimedia sprint group was truly an international team.
Godefroid Chapelle from Bubblenet was present to mentor everyone in the merits of test driven development and provide assistance in using UML to build the core products.
The tangible results of the sprint were the enhancement of the ATAudio product, and the creation of ATMediaFile, ATVideo and ATPhoto. Also explored was the Tramline product for using Apache to bypass Zope for file uploads, and PloneJUpload, a slick Java applet for batch uploading media files into Plone.
After getting to know this great bunch of developers, we've been continuing the work on multimedia on the #plone4artists IRC channel. Drop by and say hello!
