Jazkarta launches Bostonjazz.net

Bostonjazz.net is a recently launched site to serve the Boston jazz and improvised music community. It's immediate purpose is to provide easy-to-use tools for musicians to build their own artist portfolios, discussion forums to network like-minded musicians, and a sitewide calendar of events to promote jazz in the Boston area.

Bostonjazz.net is the first site built on top of the Plone4Artists framework, and serves as an example of what the software can offer. Features include individual and sitewide gig calendars, photo albums, discussion forums, online chats, MP3 radio streaming, Podcasting and more.

We also plan to spearhead the launching of similar sites (newyorkjazz.net) and connect them to each other through cross-site searches and RSS feeds.
