Vardan Ovsepian

Migrating a static HTML site to Plone gave Vardan, an excellent Boston-based pianist, easy-to-use tools to update his site's content, including bio, photos, news, gig calendar, MP3s, press kit, quotes, and pretty much anything else he can think of.

The advantage of hosting the site with Jazkarta is that his site is additionally registered on the artist community portal site www.bostonjazz.net, so that he gets additional traffic from being associated with like-minded musicians. He still has a personal branded website, but the content can appear in both places.

Note: the domain name vardanovsepian.com still points to the previous static HTML site, not the new Plone-based site.

Shoko Nagai

Client: Shoko Nagai (pianist)
Location: New York, NY (originally from Nagoya, Japan)

The current site will be migrated to Plone for better usability and internationalization (English, Japanese). Videos, news and reviews will be made available for site visitors as well as a guestbook where they can leave feedback.

As with Vardan, the content from Shoko's site will also be included on newyorkjazz.net a community website for New York based jazz musicians. She gets her own look and feel, but has the advantage that her gig announcements, news and other information is made available on the community site as well, with no extra work involved!

John Hicks and Elise Wood

Client: John Hicks & Elise Wood (jazz pianist and flutist)
Location: New York, NY

Elise was hosting with another company but frustrated that she could not update the website herself. She had to pay the company everytime she wanted a change made and they were not very responsive. Jazkarta developed a simple but powerful tool (written in PHP) so she could update her gig calendar, bio, press mentions and photos. The site will soon be migrated to Plone and appear on the newyorkjazz.net community site.
